FAQ - Questions Frequently Asked About Our Live Spanish Lessons

Why take one on one Spanish tutoring?

Because it is the fastest possible way to learn Spanish or any other language. You are not held back in anyway by other students (which can be a big problem with classes containing groups of people), and the teacher can tailor the lessons around your needs. Another great advantage of the courses is that you get to speak to native Spanish speaking tutors, listen to their pronouncation, rhythm of their speech and practice listening and speaking.

How are the lessons delivered?

The live Spanish lessons are delivered by video conferencing allowing you to see your teacher, speak and hear, as well as type live messages.

How quickly can I start?

After being tested to find your level of Spanish you will be assigned a tutor and fitted into their schedule at your request. You let us know what times you wish to do lessons and we will try to fit around you.

How do I send feedback about my Tutor?

Email us, there are details on the contact page. We want to know everything good and bad, its your feedback that keeps the service sharp.

How do I know the teachers are getting fair pay?

The whole idea of this concept is to provide a fair and reliable income for our Spanish teachers. Each tutor receives 60% of your fees, the rest goes towards maintaining this site, its traffic and costs to organise lesson schedules.

How do I know the teachers are being paid enough?

Like with all economics questions you need to first understand the countries from which the teachers are from and live in. Each Latin American has its own economic climate within which the teachers live, the cost of living is considerably less than in Europe or the US. Spanish teachers throughout the Latin American countries can expect to charge somewhere between $2 - $5 US dollars an hour. Often contact with students is made through a language school who may take up to half and sometimes over half of the money collected from teaching. Our teachers are always at the top end of the payment scale, and all monies are paid straight to them.

Can I trust the teacher will be there at the time we arrange?

Yes. All our teachers are professional and in the case of a problem will contact you to rearrange no later than 24hrs before your lesson is due to begin.

Is there a set pattern to lessons?

No, there is a logical order of learning. However it is your time so you’re the boss, explain what you want to learn and we will try to arrange it for you.

How is payment usually made?

You can use all major credit cards with our merchant, paypal. You do not need an account with Paypal nor do you need to open one, one off payments can be made through our site through Paypal without a problem.

What do I need to get started?

You need access to a computer with internet connectivity, a headset or microphone and speakers. Webcams are not necessary, but to see your teacher during the lesson can help you understand better and therefore improve the quality of your lesson. If you do not own or have access to a computer easily then try out your local internet cafés.

I already know some Spanish, do I have to start again?

No, you will be tested using a short test from which your teacher can gauge your level and help you improve from there.

Will this help with my Spanish GCSE, A Level or degree?

Yes! Conversation is good practice and will help you polish, cement and improve your Spanish.
